Matt 7:18-8:1
A good tree
cannot bear bad fruit, nor
can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut
down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the
kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your
name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And
then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice
lawlessness!'
"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine,
and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the
rock:
and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on
that house;
and it
did not fall,
for it was founded on the rock.
Now everyone who hears these
sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his
house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew
and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall." And so it was,
when Jesus had ended
these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught
them as
one having
authority, and not as the
scribes.

Jesus, the True Rock of our Foundation

1 John 1:7-10
But if we walk in the light
as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our
sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a
liar, and His word is not in us.

Rom 10:8-13
But what does it say? "The
word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith
which we preach): that if you
confess with your mouth the Lord
Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from
the dead, you will be saved. For
with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not
be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the
same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For "whoever calls on the name of the
LORD shall be saved."
